    詹姆斯・罗伊・霍纳是美国作曲家、指挥家兼电影配乐编曲家。他以融合合唱与电子元素，以及频繁使用与凯尔特音乐相关的主题动机而闻名。
    霍纳的首部重要配乐创作于 1979 年，为电影《红衣女郎》谱写，但直到 1982 年为《星际迷航 2：可汗怒吼》创作配乐后，他才确立了顶尖电影作曲家的地位。他为詹姆斯・卡梅隆的《泰坦尼克号》创作的配乐，是有史以来销量最高的管弦乐电影原声专辑。此外，他还为卡梅隆执导的全球票房最高的电影之一《阿凡达》谱写了配乐。
    詹姆斯・罗伊・霍纳是因私人飞机坠毁事故去世的。
