But stopped in their tracks amidst the city’s violent protests and ensuing uncertainty, the quintet realised a need to hold on to something free from the world that surrounded them. Embracing close friendships, the creative process, and countless sessions before dawn, the quintet were guided towards their rebirth as Lucid Express - crafting a debut album of ten enveloping songs of young life, love, and heartache in trying times.
From the gently defiant first single “Wellwave”, the monolithic walls of “Hotel 65”, to cavernous harmonies with The Bilinda Butchers’ Adam Honingford on “Hollowers”, to the gliding trance of “Prime of Pride”, the ten songs that fill their debut are enveloping songs of young life, love, and heartache in trying times.
