两位音乐家的艺术结缘始于2017年佩特里日本巡演期间的同台演出。当时西山主要以大键琴伴奏，亦用巴洛克竖琴演绎了部分曲目。琴笛和鸣的绝妙音色令二人沉醉不已，遂约定在佩特里下次日本巡演中增加巴洛克竖琴的演奏比重。2019年12月巡演收官之际，她们录制了这张以古老音乐结构“固定低音”（On a Ground）为核心的专辑。专辑主体为优美的文艺复兴时期乐曲，同时收录了巡演曲目中的四首原创作品、萨蒂的经典之作以及若干巴洛克选段。
