尽管《仙女们》与《毕业舞会》如今上演与录音频率已不如往昔，却依然是芭蕾保留剧目中的支柱作品，两部作品风格鲜明：前者以肖邦的音乐为灵感，是对浪漫主义芭蕾的致敬之作；后者则是一支充满怀旧气息、诙谐风趣的舞蹈瑰宝，故事设定在帝国时期的维也纳，选用小约翰・施特劳斯的音乐集锦，由安塔尔・多拉蒂配器。
本专辑由查尔斯・马克拉斯爵士指挥，为全新精良重制版本。
