    海诺・埃勒（1887–1970）是爱沙尼亚专业器乐音乐的奠基人，既是技艺精湛、风格独创的作曲家，也是执教长达半个世纪的作曲导师。他创作的约三百部作品几乎全部专注于器乐领域。
    尽管埃勒创作了三部交响曲、十余首交响诗、六首弦乐四重奏与四首钢琴奏鸣曲，但其创作本质上仍以小型体裁见长。他的音乐以明朗的泛神论抒情性与北欧式的内敛表达为特征，同时潜藏着富有哲思、时而带有史诗气质的深层暗流。
    这张制作精良的专辑是史上首张专门收录埃勒小提琴作品的唱片，囊括了他此类创作的近半数曲目，其中包括技巧艰深的《第二小提琴与钢琴奏鸣曲》、极具表现力的表现主义杰作《小提琴独奏幻想曲》，以及爱沙尼亚小提琴文献中最具代表性、最广为人知的作品 ——《松树林》。
